Choosing a brokerage used to be complicated. Now three big names all offer zero-commission trades and low-cost index funds: Fidelity, Schwab, and Vanguard.

All three are reputable and insured by SIPC (up to $500,000). Pick based on which app you like best — the differences are minor. Avoid flashy apps that gamify trading with confetti animations and push notifications. You want boring. Boring is where wealth is built.
