LESSON 2 · Smart Money Habits That Stick

Track Your Saves

Make the 24-hour rule rewarding by tracking what you didn't buy. Keep a simple note on your phone: date, item, price. At the end of each month, add up the total — this is money you would have spent but didn't. Most people are shocked: it often adds up to hundreds of dollars a month in avoided impulse spending.

At the end of each month, transfer that "saved" amount into your savings or investment account. Now the 24-hour rule isn't just preventing spending — it's actively building wealth. Watching your "saves" tracker grow becomes its own reward, replacing the shopping high with a saving high.
