The Rambling Problem

Rambling is the most common interview mistake. Nervous brains generate more words as defense — it feels thorough but signals disorganized thinking to the room. The fix: built-in stopping points — one insight, one example, one summary.

Not every question deserves an instant answer. Pausing to think is a power move, not a weakness. Top executives do it constantly — a few seconds of silence before you answer signals you take the question seriously.
