LESSON 1 · The Promotion Blueprint

Visible to Decision-Makers

Great work does not speak for itself. People who manage their visibility tend to get promoted faster than equally skilled peers who stay quiet. Volunteer to present your team's work to nearby groups — your manager shares the credit, so they rarely refuse.

Visibility means the right people see the right work at the right time. If your manager's manager cannot name a project you led this year, you are invisible where promotion decisions actually happen. Visibility is strategic, not vain.
