LESSON 3 · Network Without Being Awkward

The Feedback Gift

Offering genuine, thoughtful feedback when someone shares their work is a powerful favor. Most people get polite silence from their network — you offer substance instead.

Be specific and constructive: "The section on X was compelling. Have you considered adding Y?" People will actively seek you out for input, and the circle of people who send you their early drafts is exactly the circle that later sends you opportunities.

The best feedback pairs one genuine compliment with one actionable suggestion — a bond deeper than any networking event can manufacture.
