Clear Separation

Separate the person from the position. You're disagreeing with an idea, not attacking a human. Make it explicit: "I respect your perspective, and I see it differently because the numbers point the other way." This phrasing prevents the defensiveness that turns discussions into conflicts.

Practice before every single meeting: "I may disagree with proposals today, but I respect every person in this room." This mindset keeps your tone collaborative even when your words are challenging the status quo.
