LESSON 1 · The Feedback Playbook

The Quiet Killer

The most damaging feedback is no feedback at all. When colleagues say nothing, you assume everything is fine. Meanwhile, small problems multiply into large ones nobody flagged — and by review season, the story has been written without your side in it.

The default mode in most teams is polite silence. Nobody wants to be the messenger of inconvenient truth, so accountability erodes a week at a time. The fix isn't culture change — it's one person, you, asking out loud.
