LESSON 2 · The Feedback Playbook

Rapid-Fire Practice

Like any skill, quick feedback improves with deliberate practice. Start by giving one SBI observation daily to yourself out loud. Week two: deliver one to a trusted colleague. By week four, the structure runs in the background and you focus on what you actually saw.

When you do start out loud, begin with positive feedback — it's easier and carries no social risk. The structure is identical, so the reflex you build on praise transfers straight over; only the content changes when you move to constructive notes.
