LESSON 1 · Thrive Working Remote

Design Your Environment First

Your environment either protects focus or quietly destroys it, and willpower rarely breaks the tie. Three fixes matter more than any productivity app.

Physical separation: a dedicated desk your brain ties only to work, even if it's a corner of the bedroom. Notification discipline: silence non-human notifications entirely and turn off badge counts, so only a real person can pull your attention. Time-of-day alignment: heavy thinking when your body actually has energy, not when the calendar suggests.

Get these three right, and you can recover hours each week without working any harder. The hours were there all along, just leaking through bad defaults.
