LESSON 1 · Master Your Time

The Classic Pomodoro Protocol

The official method has 5 steps, and the simplicity is the point:

  1. Choose one task — one specific deliverable, not three and not "work on the project."
  2. Set a timer for 25 minutes — this is one "pomodoro." If a distraction pops up, jot it on paper and return to the task.
  3. Work until the timer rings — no checking, no switching, single-task only.
  4. Take a 5-minute break — stand up, stretch, look out a window. Do not check your phone.
  5. After 4 pomodoros, take a 15-30 minute break — this longer rest keeps mental fatigue from piling up.
