This is why perfectionists procrastinate more, not less. When the standard is flawless, starting feels terrifying because anything you produce might fall short. So you delay. You research endlessly. You plan without acting. You rewrite the first paragraph fifteen times instead of finishing the draft. Perfectionism does not produce better work — it produces less work, delivered later, at the cost of your mental health.
