LESSON 3 · Learn Anything Faster

Building Your First Palace

Pick a place you know intimately, your home, your office, or a route you walk daily. Identify ten distinct locations in a fixed order: front door, hallway, kitchen counter, refrigerator, dining table, and so on. These are your mental "slots" where you will place information to remember.

  • Choose locations that are visually distinct from each other
  • Walk the route in the same order every time
  • Make each location a specific spot, not a vague area
  • Practice walking the empty palace until the route is automatic

Once the route is second nature, you can reuse it for any list, speech, or set of facts by placing vivid mental images at each stop.
