Go to your phone's notification settings right now and review every app that can interrupt you. For each one, ask: has this notification ever been genuinely time-sensitive? If the honest answer is no, turn it off.

• Keep on: phone calls, texts from close contacts, calendar reminders
• Scheduled summary: email, news, social media
• Turn off completely: games, shopping apps, most social media, promotional apps.
