Exposure Rewires Fear

The most powerful fix is also the simplest: do it again, on a ladder. Each rep that ends safely makes the next one feel smaller.

Build the climb deliberately:

  • Start tiny — talk to three friendly listeners, then a small meeting
  • Step up to a room of twenty or thirty once the small group feels routine
  • Keep the reps regular, not rare — momentum matters more than size

The nerves do not vanish overnight; they fade over weeks of steady practice. You are not trying to silence the alarm. You are teaching it the stage is safe.
