LESSON 3 · Speak Without Fear

Preparation Equals Freedom

The golden rule has a quiet companion: the more prepared you are, the less fear you feel. Anxiety fills the space that preparation leaves empty. When you know what comes next, your mind has less room to spiral into worst-case scenarios.

But preparation does not mean memorizing a script word for word. Over-memorizing creates a new fear: forgetting your lines. Instead, prepare your structure — know your opening, your three main points, and your close, and let the exact words stay flexible. The sweet spot is prepared enough to feel safe, loose enough to feel natural. Rehearse until you can move through your structure smoothly without reading it.
