LESSON 2 · From Mumbling to Commanding

Your Articulation Training Plan

These progressive exercises build real control:

  • Plosive drills: repeat P-T-K and B-D-G slowly, with a crisp release
  • Fricative holds: sustain each fricative (F, S, TH, SH) until the position feels steady
  • Vowel stretching: cycle through the vowel sounds with exaggerated mouth positions
  • Minimal pairs: say pairs that differ by one sound ("thin" vs "fin")
  • Speed laddering: run a tongue twister at half speed, then build to normal

The aim is not to sound like a robot or a news anchor. It is to have such precise control that being casual becomes a choice, not a limit.
