Land It Right

A brilliant hook still flops if you mumble it. The words buy attention; the delivery cashes it in.

• Open cold. Skip "um, so, hi everyone" — your first word should be the hook itself.
• Pause after it. Silence tells the room something just landed and they should be listening.
• Hold their eyes. Looking up, not at your notes, signals you mean it.
