Start Where They Are

Most people try to persuade right away and wonder why they hit resistance. The fix is to earn the right to be heard before you push.

Open by sharing what you notice and asking real questions, so the other person feels understood instead of sold to. Only then bring your evidence — now it lands on common ground rather than a cold start. The hardest part is patience: lasting change happens when the listener makes your message their own, not the second you finish talking.
