Plan the Landing

Write your close before you write the body. The ending is not an afterthought you reach when the points run out — it is the target you aim at from the first word.

When you know your last line, every choice gets easier. You drop the detail that does not serve it and lean into the one that does. The body stops wandering because it finally has a destination.
