LESSON 3 · The Art of Persuasion
Warmth Comes First
Trust is built from small, steady signals. People judge warmth before competence. First they ask "Can I trust what this person wants?" Only then, "Can I trust what they can do?" Get the order wrong and your expertise feels like a threat instead of a comfort.

Leading with warmth means showing real interest, admitting what you do not know, and putting the other person's view first. "I have seen cases like yours, and they are genuinely tricky" earns more trust than "I know exactly what you need to do."
