The Mirror Technique
One of the most powerful presence signals is subtle mirroring — matching the other person's body language, pace, and energy level. When you mirror someone, their brain registers you as similar and trustworthy.
Mirroring is not mimicry. It is a slight, natural echo of their posture, gestures, or speaking pace. If they lean forward, you lean forward moments later. If they speak softly, you match their volume.
Done well, mirroring builds rapport because humans are wired to trust people who seem like them.
