Clarifying Questions in Practice
Clarifying questions show curiosity without interrogation. Ask "What do you mean by that?" or "What would that look like in practice?" to reveal the meaning beneath the first answer.

Avoid questions that are actually statements in disguise. "Don't you think you should have done it differently?" is not clarifying — it is judging with a question mark. A true clarifying question has no predetermined answer.
