Detach and Decode
Detach from the delivery and decode the content. When someone yells or picks harsh words, your attention locks onto the hostility. But buried inside the heat there is usually a real concern.

One quick test cuts through the noise. Ask yourself: if a calm friend said the same thing, would the point be fair? Strip away the volume and the word choice, and you can respond to the substance instead of the sting. You do not have to accept how it was said.
