Pressure Without Cracking

Four moves that let you take the hit without firing back:

  • Label the emotion — "I can see this really matters to you" acknowledges them without agreeing or fighting
  • Take notes — writing pulls your brain from emotional mode into analytical mode
  • Ask a question — "What outcome are you hoping for?" turns an attack into a conversation
  • Request a pause — "I want to give this proper attention. Can we take five?" buys your nervous system time

None of these mean you agree. They mean you are steady enough to hear it — which lands harder than matching anger with anger.
