Acknowledge to Disarm
The fastest way to lower defenses is to validate their concern before countering it. Use the pattern: "You're right that [their concern]. And that's exactly why [your solution]." This is the acknowledgment bridge — it works because resistance comes from feeling unheard.
- "You're right the timeline is aggressive. That's why we front-loaded the critical tasks."
- "I understand the budget feels tight. That's precisely why we prioritized high-ROI features."
Never say "but" after acknowledging — it erases everything before it. Use "and" or "which is why" instead.
