The Honesty Myth
Most people rate themselves as more honest than average - something that cannot be true for everyone. Psychologists call it the better-than-average effect. Many people insist they lie less than their peers. That blind spot about our own honesty is a useful warning sign.

We maintain a self-image as truth-tellers while bending facts to protect it. Recognizing your own small daily deceptions makes you less naive about deception in others. Awareness starts at home.
