Listening as Leadership

How well you listen strongly shapes how well you lead. Teams whose leaders practice deep listening tend to surface problems earlier because people expect their signals to be heard.

Sometimes the best response is no immediate response. A two-second silence after someone finishes signals you processed what they said and may prompt them to add the detail they were holding back. In negotiation, silence often has real leverage.
