Amy Cuddy's original power posing research drew heavy scrutiny, and the hormone claims — that expansive poses raise testosterone and lower cortisol — did not hold up when others tried to repeat them.

Reframe the nerves too. Anxiety and excitement share several physical responses: elevated heart rate, sweating, and faster breathing. Calling the energy readiness can be easier than forcing calm.
