Build Your Phrase Toolkit
Start with these five categories and keep one go-to phrase for each:
- Opening a discussion: "I'd like to walk through something important."
- Disagreeing respectfully: "I see the logic, and here's another angle."
- Redirecting a meeting: "Let's bring this back to the core question."
- Closing a decision: "So here's what we're going with."
- Following up: "I want to make sure we're aligned on next steps."
Write these down. Practice them out loud — not just in your head. Confidence in speaking comes from muscle memory, not from reading. The more your mouth forms these phrases, the more naturally they'll come out when the pressure is on.
