LESSON 2 · Confidence in Every Word

What Actually Matters

Accent matters less than word stress, sentence rhythm, and clear consonants. Wrong stress or swallowed endings confuse listeners far more than sounding foreign.

Record yourself reading a paragraph and play it back. Do not listen for accent — listen for missing sounds and unclear words. Those gaps are what trip up your listeners, and once you can hear them you can fix them.
