LESSON 4 · Grammar That Actually Matters

Your Conditional Mastery Guide

Make conditionals feel natural with these steps:

  • Think reality level first: is this possible, imaginary, or too late?
  • Usually avoid "will" in the if-clause — the prediction normally goes in the result clause
  • Practice mixed conditionals by describing real regrets: "If I had saved more, I'd own a home today"
  • Learn the informal shortcuts so you recognize them in conversation
  • Use conditionals in daily speech: "If I finish early, I'll call you" — practice makes patterns familiar

Conditionals are not just grammar exercises. They are how you express dreams, regrets, plans, and possibilities. Master them and you open a whole dimension of English expression.
