Make and Do
Advanced speakers often know the right words but combine them wrong. You make a mistake (not do). You do your homework (not make).

The best way to learn collocations is to notice them while reading. When you meet a phrase like "conduct research" or "raise awareness," write down the full phrase, not just the separate words. Words travel in pairs in English, and learning them as pairs is how native speakers build natural fluency.
