Your Error Elimination Plan

Target fossilized errors with these strategies:

  • Record yourself for five minutes and have a teacher or advanced speaker identify patterns
  • Focus on one error per week — trying to fix everything at once fixes nothing
  • Create correction sentences you say aloud daily until the correct form replaces the old habit
  • Learn collocations as units: "make a decision," not "make" + "decision" separately
  • Use a grammar checker on your writing to catch errors you no longer notice.
