LESSON 1 · Everyday Expressions & Idioms

Your Idiom Action Plan

Here is how to absorb idioms naturally without grinding flashcards:

  • Pick three new idioms per week from shows, podcasts, or conversations you actually enjoy
  • Write each one in a full sentence from your own life, not a textbook example
  • Use each idiom at least twice that week in real messages or speech
  • Skip idioms that feel forced — if it does not fit your personality, drop it
  • Group idioms by theme — work idioms, friendship idioms, problem idioms — for faster recall

Fluency is not about knowing every idiom. It is about using twenty of them so well that people forget you learned English as a second language.
