The fastest way to absorb collocations is to read and listen in quantity. The brain is a pattern machine. Expose it to enough natural English and it will start rejecting wrong pairs on its own.

Another powerful method is the collocation journal. When you meet a new word, do not write it alone. Write it with its partners. Instead of "decision," write "make a decision, reach a decision, tough decision." Storing the word inside its natural phrases is what makes it stick.
