LESSON 2 · Travel English Survival Kit

Your Hotel English Cheat Sheet

Keep these phrases ready for your next stay:

  • Arrival: "I have a reservation under [name]. Here's my ID and confirmation."
  • Upgrade: "Is there a room with a better view or on a higher floor?"
  • Problem: "The [specific issue]. Could someone take a look, please?"
  • Request: "Is it possible to get [extra pillows / a crib / an iron]?"
  • Checkout: "I'd like to check out. Could I get a receipt, please?"

Hotel staff serve guests in dozens of languages every day. They are patient, they expect questions, and they respond best to clear, polite, specific requests. You don't need perfect English — just the right phrase at the right moment.
