LESSON 4 · Travel English Survival Kit

Lost, Robbed, or Stranded

If you are lost, show the address on your phone. If your wallet is stolen, ask for the nearest police station. If your passport is lost, contact your embassy or consulate right away.

When calling emergency services, state three things immediately: your location, the emergency, and how many people need help. "I'm at [address]. Someone is having a heart attack. One person." Dispatchers will guide you from there, so stay on the line until they tell you to hang up.
