LESSON 1 · Write It Right

Email Power Moves

Use these techniques to make every email count:

  • Lead with the ask if you know the recipient well: "Can you approve this by Wednesday? Here's the context..."
  • Use bullet points for any list of more than two items
  • Bold your deadline so it is impossible to miss
  • End with a clear question — it gives the reader an easy, obvious way to respond
  • Match the recipient's tone — if they write casually, you can too; if they are formal, mirror it

A great email is not one that impresses with vocabulary. It is one that gets read, understood, and answered. Write for the reader's convenience, not your own ego.
