Email Power Moves
Use these techniques to make every email count:
- Lead with the ask if you know the recipient well: "Can you approve this by Wednesday? Here's the context..."
- Use bullet points for any list of more than two items
- Bold your deadline so it is impossible to miss
- End with a clear question — it gives the reader an easy, obvious way to respond
- Match the recipient's tone — if they write casually, you can too; if they are formal, mirror it
A great email is not one that impresses with vocabulary. It is one that gets read, understood, and answered. Write for the reader's convenience, not your own ego.
