LESSON 2 · Pronunciation Breakthrough

Practice with Music

Song lyrics are one of the best tools for learning English rhythm because music exaggerates the natural stress patterns of speech. When you sing along, your mouth practices the exact rhythm native speakers use.

Choose songs with clear pronunciation — singers like Adele or Ed Sheeran enunciate well. Find the lyrics, listen a few times, then sing along, focusing on which syllables the singer emphasizes. Rap builds speed and rhythm too, but it's harder to start with.
