LESSON 1 · Find Your Power Voice
Hear Yourself First
One of the fastest ways to find your vocal gaps is to record yourself in a real meeting or call, but only where recording is allowed and with any required consent. Many people are surprised — the voice in your head is not quite the voice other people get. Recordings expose the habits you can't feel: trailing off, rushing the important parts, leaning on filler words.
If you can record appropriately, listen back like a stranger would. Mark every rising ending, count the "ums," and note where your volume drops. If recording is not appropriate, practice with a solo voice memo using the same opening or meeting update. Just noticing these habits is where the change begins.
