LESSON 3 · Find Your Power Voice

A calm voice has specific physical characteristics:

  • Diaphragmatic breathing supports the voice with deep, stable airflow rather than shallow chest breathing
  • Relaxed throat muscles allow resonance rather than constriction, producing a fuller, lower sound
  • Slower pace gives the brain time to formulate thoughts clearly before expressing them
  • Measured pauses replace filler words and rushing, creating space for both speaker and listener

Stress produces the opposite of each: shallow breathing, tight throat, rapid pace, and zero pauses. By consciously reversing these physical patterns, you interrupt the stress cycle at the body level.
