LESSON 2 · The Daily Voice Warm-Up

Bring your voice online with this gentle progression:

  • Hydrate first — drink a full glass of room-temperature water before speaking. This starts hydrating the vocal fold tissue
  • Yawn and stretch — several full yawns stretch the laryngeal muscles and open the throat. Pair with body stretches
  • Gentle humming — hum at a comfortable middle pitch. Feel the vibration in your chest and face. Keep it soft for 30 seconds
  • Lip trills — slide gently up and down your range without pushing

The whole sequence takes 2-3 minutes and fits into making breakfast or showering. Aim for gradual activation, not forcing the voice before it is ready.
