LESSON 2 · Deeper, Richer, Magnetic

Research often links lower vocal pitch with perceived authority, competence, or leadership, especially in controlled studies and some male-voice samples. Some political-candidate studies find voters prefer lower voices, and one CEO study found lower-pitched male CEOs led larger companies and earned more on average. These are correlations and perception effects, not proof that lower is always better.

You do not need to artificially deepen your voice. Relaxing the throat, breathing steadily, and releasing jaw tension can let your pitch settle toward the lower end of your comfortable range. Stress often pushes pitch upward; calm can let it settle.
