LESSON 3 · Deeper, Richer, Magnetic

Vocal warmth comes from chest resonance and relaxed production. When the vocal tract is open and relaxed, lower harmonics are amplified, creating the rich, full quality of voices people describe as "warm" or "velvet." Tension eliminates these harmonics, producing a thin, strained sound.

The fastest way to add warmth is to relax the base of your tongue and lower your larynx slightly — the open feeling just before a yawn. This maximizes the resonating space and lets the warm lower overtones flourish. Practice speaking from this position until it feels natural.
