LESSON 1 · Command Any Room

Projection Vs. Volume

Shouting and projecting feel similar from the inside, but they use completely different machinery. Shouting forces extra air through tense vocal folds at high pressure.

Think of a bullhorn next to a cathedral bell. The bullhorn is pure force: loud at the source, but the sound stays small and dies fast. The bell barely moves, yet its tone fills a city block, because the vibration is amplified by the whole body of the bell. Your voice can work either way: force, or resonance.
