The Feedback Loop
Speaking is not a one-way broadcast. It is a feedback loop between speaker and audience.

Your ears are the primary instrument for reading this feedback. The energy of the room — the collective level of attention, engagement, or restlessness — is audible if you listen for it. An engaged audience has its own sound: responsive laughter, the rustle of people leaning in, and immediate quiet when you pause.
