LESSON 1 · Think Like Sherlock
A Worked Walkthrough
Watching the process beats memorizing the rule. Picture a coworker who arrives with a paper coffee cup, damp coat shoulders, and a slightly out-of-breath greeting.
Now reason in steps:
- Gather — three plain facts: the cup, the wet shoulders, the rushed breathing.
- Connect — wet shoulders plus a fresh coffee suggest a stop on the way in, despite the rain.
- Best guess — they left early enough to grab coffee but still had to hurry the last stretch.
Notice the order. You collect the facts first, then offer the most likely story last. Hold it loosely: a leaking water bottle would explain the wet coat just as well.
