Your 2-Minute Routine

Before believing or sharing any surprising claim:

  • Stop — resist the urge to react; take 10 seconds
  • Search the claim in quotes to see who else is reporting it
  • Check the source — established and accountable, or anonymous and obscure?
  • Run a reverse image search on any photo that seems too perfect
  • Trace it to the original study, document, or statement

Two minutes of checking prevents hours of being wrong and stops you from spreading misinformation. The person who checks before sharing is the most valuable member of any community.
