Drowning in Information

You absorb vastly more information than professionals did a generation ago. News feeds, messages, dashboards, podcasts, and recommendations all compete for the same limited attention. More input does not automatically create better decisions; it often creates more noise to sort through.

Most decisions eventually stop improving with more research. The returns on gathering information drop off, and in some contexts they reverse: more data starts producing worse decisions because you can no longer see the signal through the noise.
