Cut through information overload. Define what matters first — decide your 2-3 most important criteria before researching. Everything else is noise. Set a time limit — Parkinson's Law says work expands to fill available time.

Use the 80/20 rule — 80% of useful information comes from 20% of available sources. Find the key sources, ignore the rest. Satisfice, do not maximize — choose the first option that meets your criteria rather than exhaustively comparing every possibility.
